Reverse - Latent images of both Chinese and Arabic numerals for fifty are in the middle; a picture of an ear of rice on both sides.
The NT$50 coin was first issued in 1992. In 1996, a new NT$50 coin with a bi-metallic composition was issued. In order to enchance security features, the coin was redesigned and issued on April 26, 2002, with added edge lettering, latent images, and tactile marks for the visually impaired. The years engraved were 2002-2010, and 2013-2019.
